About Knox Counselling Centre

What services does Knox Counselling Centre offer?

Knox Counselling Centre offers various counselling services, including individual, couple, family, and group counselling, focusing on psychospiritual therapy. We aim to support diverse community members and students at the University of Toronto.

Who can access your services?

Our services are available to ANYONE who is seeking counselling to manage relationship challenges and personal, familial, mental, and/or spiritual health issues.

You are located in Knox College, which is a Christian seminary. Does this mean I need to be affiliated with a religion to access counselling?

No. We provide counselling regardless of whether or not you have religious/spiritual beliefs.

Are there any fees for your counselling services?

We are committed to providing accessible counselling services. Many of our services are offered for free or at a reduced cost based on the client's financial situation. You can refer to our intake form for the specific counselling fees.

Can I claim the counselling fee from my insurance company?

Psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan). However, many extended insurance benefit plans do provide coverage. The extent of this coverage varies depending on the provider and individual plan. It's essential to consult with your insurance provider directly to confirm the details of your coverage before beginning any psychotherapy services. Upon payment for the services, you will receive a receipt. This receipt will state that the psychotherapy was provided by an intern counselor under the supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist.
