Our Mission

At Knox Counselling Centre, we are dedicated to providing free or affordable, hands-on psychospiritual counselling services to anyone in the local community and students at the University of Toronto. We offer quality clinical internships to students in the Master of Psychospiritual Study program at Knox College that prepare them for their future careers as psychospiritual therapists.

About the Director

Mi-Weon Yang Ph.D, RP

With over two decades of clinical experience, I am honoured to lead the Knox Counselling Centre. My journey in counselling encompasses a broad range of services, including individual, couple, family, and group therapies, with a special focus on serving diverse communities. As an immigrant myself, I have a deep passion for assisting people from varied ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.

At Knox, I also dedicate myself to mentoring the next generation of counsellors. I leverage my supervisory skills to equip students with the clinical competencies and insights to address unique situations effectively. This commitment extends into my academic role as an Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology and Intercultural Counselling at Knox College.

I hold professional designations as a Registered Psychotherapist and supervisor with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am also a Marriage and Family Therapist, an approved supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and a Provisional Supervisor Educator in Psychospiritual Therapy Education with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC).

Knox Counselling Centre strives to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, and effective counselling services, and I am proud to contribute to this mission.
